Ya-Wen Ho's book, last edited [insert time here], plays with language and forces the reader/listener to pay close attention. The shifts in writing come about unexpectedly and are meant to engage the audience. The beauty of Ho's writing is that it can stand unfinished, "akin to casting off on a knitting project, knowing it's not quite finished, but it will hold its shape until one decides to reopen the stitches and re-work or add."

The layout of the body was inspired heavily by Ho's writing. I wanted to control the way in which the poems were read, emphasizing the breaks, the shifts of thought. The cover work counters the interior layout and is based upon the title, which came about from the various files Ho accumulated while working on the poems, (the edits and additions).

This book was published by the non-profit organization, Tinfish Press.

Jack London Is Dead: Contemporary Euro-American Poetry of Hawai‘i (and some stories) is an anthology which was published by Tinfish Press. The book is a collection of writings from seventeen "Euro-American" writers about or inspired by Hawai‘i.

The cover is an interpretation of a map utilizing triangles, as they are prevalent symbols in Hawaiian culture. The dispersion of color symbolizes the overlapping of individuals into various categories as well as the movement of people from their homeland to their home.

Maged Zaherʻs book, The Revolution Happened And You Didn't Call Me, is a collection of poems written during his trip to Cairo as a reminder of the Egyptian Revolution. This book was published by the non-profit organization, Tinfish Press.

The cover is a representation of the Egyptian flag, which holds much symbolism of the country's political history. The angles introduced in the cover continue throughout the interior of the book and echo Zaher's outsider perspective. While originally from Cairo himself, Zaher wrote from a "sideline view" giving the reader a simple glimpse of the full situation.

Hawai‘i County started a Childrenʻs Savings Initiative with the goal of having every child on the island of Hawai‘i have a savings account in their own name. In doing so the children not only learn the value of money and saving, but it also increases their likelihood of pursuing a secondary education.

The colors were selected to mimic that of the standard No. 2 pencil. The background image was colorized in order to portray the idea that college will be experienced further down the line of this child.

The message of this poster originated from David Crow's book Visible Signs. The poster focuses on how things are categorized as rubbish that have no purpose versus treasures of great value. The idea of stance communicates that one gesture can mean several things depending on one's point of view, which stands true for a particular item as well.

A simple egg can symbolize many things. I chose to play with the ideas of life and death and suggest things beyond an egg.

The buttons interested me because they are a utilitarian object, that not many fully appreciate. I pulled from the child rhyme of Ms. Mary Mack and countered it with mythological idea of having pittance to cross over to the world of the dead.
